Fairview Heights Police Update Death Investigation At Winchester Place

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS - An autopsy found no signs of foul play in the death of Milo T. Sanders-Turner, 30, who was found deceased in the lake at the Winchester Place Apartments, Fairview Heights Police said on Thursday, Aug. 27, 2026, in an update on the death investigation.

Police said the autopsy was conducted and that toxicology results are pending. Fairview Heights Police confirmed Sanders-Turner lived at the Winchester Place Apartments.

Fairview Heights Police received a call about a body floating in a small lake between the apartment buildings at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026. Illinois State Police Crime Scene members were called to the scene, the Fairview Heights Police said.

The investigation remains ongoing as investigators work to determine the circumstances and events leading up to Sanders-Turner’s death, police said.

The Fairview Heights Police Department extended condolences to Sanders-Turner’s family and loved ones.
