Former St. Louis County Police Officer Faces Charge Over Alleged Payroll Theft

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — A former St. Louis County Police officer was charged Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, with stealing after authorities alleged he collected more than $25,000 from Schnucks Markets by submitting false time sheets for security work.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Derrick Williams, 29, of Florissant, with stealing $25,000 or more/teller machine or contents.
According to the probable cause statement, Williams worked as a county police officer while also holding a secondary job as a Schnucks security guard from January through August 2026. Authorities allege he submitted multiple time sheets claiming security hours he did not work and was paid by Schnucks for that time.
Schnucks security officials began investigating after noticing payroll issues in their department, according to the statement. The investigation was later turned over to the St. Louis County Police Department.
Williams was arrested and taken into custody without incident, according to the statement. He worked for the St. Louis County Police Department from Jan. 4, 2017, through Sept. 18, 2026.
Detectives with the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are leading the investigation.
The charge is an accusation, and Williams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
