Ian Ronald shot 86, and senior Gus Gibbs rounded out Carlinville’s scoring with a 92. Oliver Bouillon and Keegan Anderson also competed but did not contribute to the team score.

Greenfield-Northwestern placed third to advance to state in Bloomington later this week. Senior Ty Bowman led the team with an even-par round.

The boys sectional tournament marked the end of the high school golf careers of Vinyard, Zilm and Gibbs.

Vinyard earned numerous medalist honors during his career, won the SCC championship in 2025 and received all-conference recognition multiple times. He also helped Carlinville qualify for boys sectionals for the first time.

Zilm finished his career with multiple medalist honors and all-conference recognition. His accomplishments included a top-five sectional finish in 2025 and a top-50 finish at last year’s state finals, along with his role on this season’s sectional-qualifying team.

Gibbs, a newer member of the team, earned one medalist honor this season and helped fill the gap left by Tate Duckles’ graduation last year.

Red Bud won the Waterloo Sectional with a score of 330, followed by Pittsfield with a 330, Greenfield-Northwestern with a 344 and Carlinville with a 346.

Dunn Competes At Rochester Sectional

Addison Dunn, a Carlinville sophomore, fired a score of 105 at the Rochester Sectional on Tuesday, but this time did not advance to state. The future looks bright though for this talented Cavaliers sophomore.
