ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — A Riverview Police officer was charged Wednesday, Oct. 14, with sexual misconduct after authorities alleged he sexually assaulted a handcuffed woman he had taken into custody while responding to a domestic disturbance in July 2026.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Torre Dyson, 26, of Hazelwood, Mo., with sexual conduct in the course of public duty with a detainee, prisoner or offender. He is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond, with no 10% payment option.
According to a summary of the probable cause statement, Dyson was dispatched July 16, 2026, to a domestic disturbance in Riverview, where a woman’s boyfriend wanted her removed from the house. Dyson took the woman into custody while she was wearing only a nightgown and transported her to the Riverview Police Station without notifying dispatchers or his supervisors.
At the station, police said Dyson engaged the woman in a conversation of a sexual nature that made her uncomfortable and fearful, according to the statement. He then allegedly sexually assaulted her while she was handcuffed.
Dyson released the woman without booking her, charging her or taking further law enforcement action, the police statement said.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at the Riverview Police Department. Documents obtained during the search indicated that the woman had not been reported as arrested, and recovered video evidence that supported her account, according to the statement.
The investigation also found that Dyson boasted to his superiors about having sexual contact with the woman, the statement said. During an interview, he admitted taking her into custody and having sexual contact with her, according to the statement.
Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are handling the investigation.
The charge is an accusation, and Dyson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
