The charges against Patterson were filed on Oct. 23, 2026, but were sealed prior to his arrest to avoid the risk of flight from prosecution. The charges were unsealed after Patterson was arrested and booked into the Madison County Jail on Nov. 2, 2026, where he currently remains in custody.
Patterson is accused of committing multiple acts of sexual contact with a minor from Jan. 1, 2022 to Oct. 20, 2026. Patterson allegedly first committed the acts when the victim was 7 years old and continued until the victim was 12.
A petition to keep Patterson in custody pending trial was filed by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. The petition states that during an interview at a Child Advocacy Center, the victim disclosed that Patterson committed various acts of sexual contact against them from approximately January 2022 to October 20, 2026.
The East Alton Police Department presented the case against Patterson to Madison County prosecutors.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
