Hayner Library at Alton Square Mall Performance Room (Upper Level) Monday, October 12, 2026, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Do you enjoy playing games? If so, join Mah Jongg instructor Marsha Jones for a two-hour instructional class on how to play American Mah Jongg. American Mah Jongg was introduced in the 1920s by Joseph Park Babcock, who imported Mah Jongg sets to the United States and published new rules to spark interest in the game. Since then, it has evolved further, with the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) publishing official American rules in 1935, establishing a unique style that differs from traditional Chinese Mahjong. Limited seating available. Please call 1-800-613-3163 to register for this program.
