Curtain’s Up Theater Company is proud to present Thornton Wilder's beloved classic “Our Town.” Our Town is a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama written by American playwright Thornton Wilder. The play is set in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners between 1901 and 1913. The play is set in three acts and uses creative theatrical devices to tell the story, including no real set and minimal props. The show portrays the everyday lives of the town’s people and how relationships evolve through the different phases of life with their ups and downs. There is a surprise twist in the final act that leaves you reflecting on what the most valuable moments in life. It is truly a timeless classic.
This heart-warming, thought-provoking production will be directed by this year's recipient of the AFL Lifetime Achievement Award, the incredible Diana Enloe. After a lifetime of work in the theater, Diana has decided to bring her “swan song” to life on stage at The Rox Theater.
Proceeds from the show will go to both Curtains Up Theater Company and the Alton Community Services League.
