Your Role:

We are most-known to the Riverbend and surrounding region as a news website, but Riverbender.com offers a wide range of advertising and marketing solutions to small businesses too! We are seeking a full or part-time graphic designer who is ready to learn and has interest in serving a large number of clients with varying marketing needs. This position is ideal for someone who seeks to help grow our media company and offerings. Regular tasks will include, but are not limited to, Social Media Management, Email Marketing, designing for Digital Displays, designing Digital and Print Advertisements, designing assets for websites, Website Maintenance, Website Development, and more. Please note that this is a work-from-home position.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of basic design principles
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a graphic designer (freelance, agency, or in-house)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Adobe Photoshop
• Strong typography and layout skills
• Strong photo editing capabilities
• Understands and regularly uses both Facebook and Instagram
• Strong attention to detail
• Organized
• Self-motivated
• Desire to grow as a designer/web designer

Responsibilities:

• Resize existing graphics to new dimensions for publication across various platforms

• Gather information from sources at any locations and through any means commonly available for news stories
• Interviews subjects in person, over the telephone, and in writing
• Travel quickly to wherever the news occurs or is being disseminated
• Quickly and accurately reports information, either verbally or electronically, for publication
• Helps in the production of photographs and video that would be helpful in supporting stories

We’re seeking video or sports enthusiasts who enjoy telling a story through audio, video, interviews, graphics, and other multimedia abilities.  As a part of the video production team, you will also have the opportunity to become proficient with Live Broadcasts work using advanced NewTek production equipment.  This position will put you where the action is, in a variety of community and sporting events!
