O'FALLON - Belleville East took control of the match right from the start, and
took a 25-17, 25-14 win over Edwardsville in the IHSA Class 4A O'Fallon Sectional girls volleyball semifinals Tuesday night, Nov. 4, 2025, at the OTHS Panther Dome.
The Lancers advanced to the sectional final/Round of 16 match against Normal
Community, who won the other semifinal over Minooka 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, to
move on to the final.

East took charge of the match from the opening service, and proved the better team
overall, on the night, not allowing the Tigers to get on a roll at
any time.
"East was the better team in the match," said Edwardsville head coach Heather
Ohlau. Their defense kept the ball alive, and we weren't able to get
momentum. It came down to minimizing errors, and East was able to outperform
us tonight."
Madelyn Ohlau served up seven points for the Tigers, while Savannah Ford had
15 assists, Livia Goebel had eight kills, Ciara Cunningham came up with seven
kills, and Eve Eberlin had 10 digs in the match.
The Tigers conclude their season at 25-12, while the Lancers are now 30-8, and
meet the Iron in the final Thursday night at O'Fallon at 6 p.m. The winner will
meet the Richton Park Rich Township sectional winner, either the Chicago Mother
McAuley Catholic or Chicago Marist Catholic, in the Bradley-Bourbonnais super-
sectional state quarterfinal match Monday night at 6 p.m. The super-sectional
winner will play in the state finals Nov. 14-15 at CEFCU Arena on the campus of
Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal.
