ALTON - Alton Elite Jiu-Jitsu will host their grand opening this Friday and the community is invited.
From 4–8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, community members can stop by Alton Elite at 2716 Corner Court in Alton for free food, drinks, live music, giveaways and more to celebrate the martial arts studio’s relocation and rebranding. Owner Adam Marburger can’t wait to share his work with the community, and he expressed his appreciation for their help during the transition.
“The community rallied behind us,” he said. “It was a tragedy that turned into a massive opportunity.”
Marburger shared that the martial arts studio found their new building when a “perfect” off-market deal “fell in [his] lap.” While he said the last few months have been “very challenging,” he believes Alton Elite is off to a great new beginning.
He explained that the building at 2716 Corner Court was completely renovated to accommodate the jiu-jitsu studio, and he is excited to share the new space with his students.
“I’m a couple hundred thousand dollars into the reno,” he laughed. “We completely gutted it. We kept the bones. Everything is new, from the plumbing to the electrical. We have over 2,000 square feet of unobstructed open-mat space, a childcare center. We have great locker rooms with showers. It’s absolutely incredible what we did.”
The new space, which is bigger, will allow 100 people to train comfortably. Marburger’s daughter will oversee the childcare center, and there will be impressive locker rooms and plenty of space. Marburger called the new building “a gift from God” and expressed his excitement to engage with the new studio.
“I don’t play small. I play to win,” he said. “There’s a reason we rebranded as Alton Elite. We are elite martial arts. We have a coaching staff like nobody else has. We have the credentials that nobody else has. We decided we wanted something that’s not just the nicest in the area but one of the nicest gyms in the Midwest.”
You can see this new gym for yourself on Friday, Nov. 14. In addition to tours of the facility and the chance to win a yearly family membership to the academy, attendees can also enjoy free food from Riviera Maya, popcorn and snacks, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks from Sip Mobile Bar Co., and music by Levi & McAtee.
Alton Elite is also giving away a $500 Visa gift card, a 65-inch flatscreen TV, and a PlayStation 5. The food, drinks and giveaways are completely free for attendees.
“We’re proud of what we built,” Marburger explained. “We want the community to come together, to have a really nice night together.”
He added that Alton Elite is all about relationships. He wants to build up young people and help “bully-proof” kids so they can stand up for themselves and others by developing their confidence via martial arts. Marburger also aims to provide a home base for people in the community where they feel seen, valued, and empowered.
“It’s all about family,” he said. “We’re a family unit on and off the mats. We lift each other up when we’re down. We build each other up even when we’re up on top. It’s just such a collaborative effort. Our coaching staff is world-class. We have such an incredible coaching staff. I can’t wait for our students to see what’s in store for them.”
He encourages people to come out to the Alton Elite Jiu-Jitsu grand opening on Nov. 14, 2025, to see the new facility and experience the academy for themselves.
