From festive markets and peppermint pints to cookie pairings and community gatherings, the Alton-based organic brewery is offering plenty of ways to sip, shop, and celebrate all things local this holiday season

Kick off the season with this Thanksgiving-themed market highlighting handmade home goods such as candles, cutting boards, pottery, and trivets, along with value-added foods including baked goods, local honey, spice mixes, herbs, granola, and tea. It is the perfect place to pick up something local for your holiday table or a thoughtful host gift.

Holiday Cheers Markets (Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 & Dec. 20, 11:30 AM–3:30 PM)

Each weekend brings a rotating selection of over 20 vendors from a pool of 55 talented local artisans. Shoppers will find everything from herbal tea and candles to crochet, photography, pottery, books, woodworking, jewelry, fruit cake, and more. Grab a beer, enjoy lunch, and make your holiday shopping a local affair.

“Hosting these markets is one of our favorite winter traditions,” said Lauren Pattan, Co-Founder of Old Bakery Beer Co. “It is a fun way to bring people together while supporting local makers and small businesses during the holidays.”

Drink for a Cause

On the third Thursday of every month, Old Bakery Beer donates 25% of all beer and tea sales to a different community organization.

  • November 20 – Boys and Girls Club of Greater Alton

  • December 18 – Crisis Food Center

Letter Writing Club

Step away from your screen and put pen to paper during Old Bakery Beer’s Letter Writing Club, held the second Tuesday of each month. The brewery provides stationery, stamps, prompts, and even pen pal addresses for anyone looking to connect in a more meaningful way this winter.

Holiday Private Events

Looking for the perfect spot for your office holiday party or family gathering? Old Bakery Beer’s Holiday Event Package includes festive décor, an extended catering menu, and a waived room fee for events booked between November 2025 and January 2026. The private event space seats up to 100 guests and makes it easy to plan a seamless holiday celebration.

Winter Beer Releases

This season’s lineup includes new collaborations and returning favorites that are sure to warm even the chilliest of nights:

  • Cat Café (Coffee Milk Stout)
    Brewed in collaboration with Fuddle Duddle Coffee and Meowtown Alton, this vegan take on a milk stout balances a full-bodied sweetness with dark chocolate and fruity coffee notes. The can design features cats submitted by winners of Old Bakery Beer’s Meowtown fundraising raffle.
  • Peppermint Porter
    A fan favorite returns with a robust porter that combines mint and chocolate for a dessert-like winter treat.
  • Tannenbaum IPA
    A returning holiday classic brewed with rosemary for a piney, resinous finish that tastes like Christmas in a glass. Available exclusively at the brewery.

Holiday Cookie & Beer Pairing

Keep an eye out for the Old Bakery Beer x Glazed Pastry Co. Holiday Beer & Cookie Pairing, featuring four seasonal beers expertly matched with four mini cookies. It is the sweetest flight in town, with dates to be announced soon.

Holiday Cocktail Menu

Starting November 22, Old Bakery Beer will unveil its holiday cocktail menu during the Harvest Market. Expect the return of crowd favorites like the Christmas Punch, along with new creations featuring Switchgrass Spirits, perfect for festive sipping all season long.
