ALTON - Alton Elite Jiu-Jitsu invites the community to come together for a “party.”

From 4–8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, you can stop by Alton Elite for their grand opening celebration. Free food and drinks, live music, activities for kids and four grand prize giveaways promise a fun evening for all. Owner Adam Marburger noted that the new martial arts academy is the go-to spot for learning life lessons and improving your jiu-jitsu skills.

“It’s a place where you can come in and network and communicate and get a great workout in and belong to something very, very special,” he said.

Marburger encourages everyone in the community to come out to the grand opening on Nov. 14 at 2716 Corner Court in Alton.

In addition to tours of the facility and the chance to win a yearly family membership to the academy, attendees can also enjoy free food from Riviera Maya, popcorn and snacks, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks from Sip Mobile Bar Co., and music by Levi & McAtee.

Alton Elite is also giving away a $500 Visa gift card, a 65-inch flatscreen TV, and a PlayStation 5. The food, drinks and giveaways are completely free for attendees.

Kids can enjoy free face-painting, balloon animals and an inflatable obstacle course. Marburger noted that it’s important to Alton Elite to serve the younger generation. They offer Little Ninja classes for 3- to 6-year-olds as well as a full youth program. He hopes that martial arts training will inspire the kids to work hard and feel empowered.

“It’s about serving the community, building the younger generation up so they can be better contributors to our communities, to our households, to our schools, and to the future generations below them. That’s what this is about,” he explained. “We want to give these kids the tools to be successful in life. It’s about just being successful in life, being confident in themselves in their own skin, being proud of who they are, understanding that they are special, they are worthy, and they can make a difference.”

Marburger emphasized that Alton Elite is family-friendly. He wanted to create a space where no one felt intimidated and everyone felt welcome to come in and learn martial arts. All classes are beginner-friendly, and the “incredible” instructors are there to help you reach your full potential.

“We wanted to reach those who had always wanted to try jiu-jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, but they’re just afraid to walk through the front door,” Marburger said. “At Alton Elite, you can expect to be greeted with a friendly smile. You’re going to meet the instructors. There is zero ego in our academy. We are a family-friendly atmosphere. You’re going to be welcomed, and you might meet some really cool people along the way who can become really good friends of yours.”

In addition to jiu-jitsu, Alton Elite offers boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and yoga. Marburger believes all martial arts are crucial skills that can help people in their lives. Alton Elite teaches not only self-defense, but also confidence and humility, all in a supportive, friendly environment.

“The structure, the respect, the discipline that comes with learning martial arts, you can’t put a price tag on that,” Marburger added. “Without jiu-jitsu, I wouldn't be who I am today.”

He encourages people to come out to the Alton Elite Jiu-Jitsu grand opening on Nov. 14, 2025, to see the new facility and experience the academy for themselves.
