Drive-Thru Turkey Giveaway Planned for Saturday in Bethalto

BETHALTO - Community members can receive a free turkey ahead of Thanksgiving.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, you can stop by Pruitt Mechanical Services at 8511 Witt Lane in Bethalto for their drive-thru turkey drive. In addition to turkeys, attendees will receive Thanksgiving sides and food donated by the community.

“We’re going to have a tremendous amount of turkeys, so no worries,” said Joe Pruitt. “We hope to have a really good turnout. We have a lot of turkeys to give away.”

Pruitt, who owns Pruitt Mechanical Services, has collaborated with his team and other local businesses to raise money so they can purchase as many turkeys as possible.

He thanked Grand Piasa Body Art, Off-The-Beaten-Path Automotive, WELLephant Health and Wellness, Sharper Image Home Improvement, Cody Jered with Weber Chevrolet, 3rd Chute Grafton, The Alton Telegraph, Jenkins Fencing, Barnnett Pest Solutions, Renewed Wellness, Winnelson Plumbing Supply, Gumbo 2 Geaux, Happy Hour Barber Shop, Food A Fare, Alton Apartments 4 You, the Kerpan Group - Benchmark Mortgage, and Ronnie Skelton Drywall and Home Improvement for their donations.

Community members have also donated food in locations across the Riverbend to be distributed alongside the turkeys on Nov. 15.

Pruitt encourages anyone who would like food and turkeys to arrive at Pruitt Mechanical Services by 10 a.m. on Saturday. They will distribute food until it’s gone, and he hopes they can help many people.

“I just want to thank all the other businesses and stuff that have participated with me, because it wasn’t just me. It’s been a really fun experience,” Pruitt added. “We’re really excited about it. We really hope to get a huge turnout.”
