Anderson Hospital’s Pavilion for Women Recognized by ILPQC for Excellence in Birth Equity Initiatives

The Obstetrics Team received prestigious awards for efforts to ensure equitable birth outcomes and address maternal health disparities across Illinois.

MARYVILLE - Anderson Hospital is proud to announce that the Pavilion for Women Obstetrics Team has been honored by the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) for its outstanding commitment to advancing Birth Equity. Birth Equity is defined as the assurance of conditions that enable all individuals to achieve optimal birth outcomes, supported by a sustained focus on addressing racial and social inequities in maternal and infant health.

The OB team received recognition across six categories for their exemplary performance in quality improvement, patient engagement, and community partnership initiatives. Notably, Anderson Hospital was one of just 12 birthing hospitals in Illinois to receive the Blue Cross Blue Shield–funded Illinois Birthing Hospital Quality Designation: Birth Quality Star Award, which includes a $10,000 monetary award to support staff education and continued collaboration with community partners.

  • ILPQC Data Champions Award
  • Equity and Safe Sleep for Infants: On the Path for QI Excellence Award
  • Perinatal Mental Health: Outstanding Launch Award

  • ILPQC Illinois Birthing Hospital Quality Designation: Birth Quality Star Award ($10,000)
