GRANITE CITY - The Historic Route 66 Flea Market encourages community members to come out and see everything they have to offer.

Located at 3121 West Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City, the flea market is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. They share space with The Route 66 Diner and The Kickstand Bar. Jules, the office manager, explained that The Historic Route 66 Flea Market is a great space for people to shop.

“The Historic Route 66 Flea Market is a destination space with a bit of everything,” Jules said. “You get a little bit of throwback, a little bit of nostalgia. You can wander in and find collectibles from your childhood, whether it be from the 50s or the 70s or the 90s even, because we’re vintage now as well. It’s a great place with anything and everything.”

Jules considers the market a “hidden gem” in the community. He noted that they have over 40 permanent vendors at the flea market, who sell a variety of products ranging from candy, gems, antiques, collectibles and more.

Sharon Ogdeen with Miscellanea House sells homemade fudge, teas, coffees, spices and sauces. She expressed her appreciation for the flea market and the other vendors who make it such a comfortable, welcoming space.

“It’s just a shop that you can come in and stay for a while if you want,” Ogdeen said. “The people are great. The vendors all try to work together. It’s just a fun place to be. It’s become my home away from home.”

Antonina Murray with Murray’s Bizarre echoed Ogdeen. Her shop sells “eclectic” mosaics, artwork, hand-painted items, keychains and more. Like Ogdeen, the people are what really stand out to Murray. She is proud to be a part of the flea market.

“We’re part of the community,” Murray said. “I absolutely love the people. There’s a lot of like-minded individuals out here. We’re all here to make a living and support our families.”

The flea market has been in Granite City for over 20 years, but they are currently undergoing “a revival,” Jules said, with more events than ever before. On December 13, 2025, they will host a pop-up night market complete with lights and hot cocoa for people to enjoy. Jules added that the market is excited for this next chapter.

“We’ve got a lot of new things happening, a lot of new events,” he said. “We're really reaching out more to the community and trying to get more involved in our community and hosting events.”
