Roasterz Coffee Celebrates Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in Wood River

WOOD RIVER — Roasterz Coffee Co., a locally owned coffee shop at 7 West Ferguson Avenue in Wood River, is expanding its services with plans to launch a mobile coffee truck and host after-hours events this summer. The business recently held a ribbon-cutting in Wood River.

Whitney Young.The mobile truck will add accessibility for the shop, and the business also plans to incorporate app-based ordering and delivery systems, aiming to make coffee available at any time. In addition, the business is working on patio seating designs for the back area of the business to enhance customer experience.

“We want everyone to enjoy coffee no matter what time,” said Whitney Young, an owner, who emphasized the importance of community connection. She reflected on her inspiration, recalling how her best friend Elizabeth often enjoyed “best friend dates” at Maeva’s, where passionate baristas created a personal and welcoming atmosphere.

Having graduated from Roxana High School and been a part of the Wood River community for years as a student before her later high school years, the owner described the journey as overwhelming but rewarding. She said she loved having this in what she calls home - Wood River.

“I have put my entire heart into this,” she said with deep emotion, noting the strong support from city workers and residents alike.

Roasterz Coffee Co. offers handcrafted drinks with fast, friendly service, featuring both drive-thru and dine-in options. The new initiatives are part of the shop’s ongoing effort to serve and engage the Wood River community.
