
EDWARDSVILLE – Two New York residents face major felony charges in Madison County after bringing over 5,000 grams of cannabis into Illinois.

Zachary M. Parise, 21, of Long Beach, N.Y., and Victor S. Parise, 49, of New York, N.Y., were both charged on Nov. 19, 2025 with one count each of cannabis trafficking and unlawful manufacture or delivery of cannabis (each Class X felonies).
On Nov. 17, 2025, the two allegedly knowingly possessed and brought over 5,000 grams of cannabis from the State of California into the State of Illinois, other than as authorized under the Cannabis Control Act, Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act, or Industrial Hemp Act.
Both were ordered released from custody pending trial in the cases presented by the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois (MEGSI), a division of the Illinois State Police.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
