GRAFTON - There’s a fun weekend to be had in Grafton, and it all starts with Grafton’s Holiday Treat Trail.
Don't miss our top stories and need-to-know news everyday in your inbox.
Starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, you can stop by The Loading Dock to snag a free ticket, punch card and goodie bag. Only the first 300 people will receive these items, so you're encouraged to come early. Then, you can spend the afternoon walking along Grafton’s streets, enjoying free goodies at participating businesses and completing your holiday shopping.
“There’s something for everybody all over town. You can pretty much get a Christmas gift for anybody in town at any of the stores,” said Jacqi Kamp, who organized Grafton’s Holiday Treat Trail. “It is going to be very busy. We’re hoping we have a great turnout.”
Registration at The Loading Dock is open until 1 p.m. Everything is completely free. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be present for free pictures.
Once you receive your ticket, you can show it at any participating business to receive a treat, including a few “pretty elevated” goodies like German chocolate cake with soft-serve ice cream at Southern Coastal Cuisine or chocolate bread pudding at The Oyster Bar.
You can also get your punch card punched at every location. When your punch card is full, leave it in one of the three dropboxes spread throughout town for the chance to win a prize package.
Local businesses have donated toward the prize package. Kamp herself donated a stay at her spot, Spring Hollow Hideaway. Paula Jameson, another organizer and owner of Lady Luck Designs and Photography, has donated a full family photography session.
“It’s just the best of Grafton,” Jameson said. “Everybody’s throwing in the best of what they have to offer.”
Kamp and Jameson highlighted Grafton’s Holiday Treat Trail as an opportunity to enjoy Grafton’s retail and dining district. The goal is to bring more people into town for a fun day of shopping and snacking.
“[We want] to get people into their shops so they can see what they have to offer,” Jameson said. “There’s so many great, unique, eclectic shops in Grafton. There’s so much to do outdoors that sometimes I think our shopping district gets overlooked. It really does. But we have a huge heart of our community beating in our shopping district.”
