Precision Point Armory Offers Personalized Firearm Training and Safety Classes in Bethalto

BETHALTO - Precision Point Armory offers firearm training and classes for everyone, from the total beginner to the advanced shooter.

Ben Julian, owner of Precision Point Armory, decided to start his business because he saw how many people were intimidated by firearms. As someone who is passionate about firearms, it’s important to him to make sure that gun owners are educated about how to properly handle these devices. He works with people who have never held a gun as well as those who are ready to take their firearms training to the next level.

“I get the most joy out of helping that student that comes in scared. I mean, thoroughly scared. I’ve seen people literally shaking when they hold an unloaded firearm,” Julian said. “I’ve worked with them over a few weeks, and within a few sessions, I see where they’re very comfortable and shooting very well.”

Julian grew up around firearms. His father instilled a love for hunting in him, but he also taught Julian the importance of gun safety. His “lifelong passion” for firearms, archery and gun safety has led Julian to shoot a variety of firearms across the U.S., Canada and Africa.

As a United States Concealed Carry Association-certified instructor, Julian sees a lot of people enter concealed carry classes with little to no knowledge about guns. He wants to help people become more comfortable when handling firearms by teaching them the basics of firearm safety first and foremost.

“It really grew out of my passion of wanting to teach people how to handle firearms safely, not so much just shooting,” he explained. “I think there’s a real need for firearm safety. I think people really need it and don’t know what they’re doing, and there’s a lot of new people out there who really could use the training.”

Through Precision Point Armory, Julian offers personalized one-on-one sessions based on the student’s experience level. He matches his instruction to the student’s needs and often starts with the basics. But he’s also happy to work with those who have more experience to improve their shooting skills.

“I like to take each situation into consideration and work with that student individually. Somebody that doesn’t know as much, we’re probably going to start at the beginning and we’re going to do some things without any live ammo, some firearm handling,” he said. “I also will work with more advanced students and help them perfect their forms and their trigger pull and things like that. Across the board, it’s just going to depend on the student and what they need.”

Julian added that gun safety is the most important lesson for a gun owner to learn, and he is proud that he can offer these classes to help people learn or refresh their knowledge on firearm handling. He hopes his classes are both enjoyable and educational. He looks forward to helping more people in their gun ownership journey.

“It all really makes me happy if I can help anybody improve,” Julian added. “We want to produce safe, responsible firearm owners.”
