From 12–3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, at the Mineral Springs Banquet Center in Alton, you can pick out toys for your children and enjoy several activities and treats. There are no income requirements, though K Miller Foundation founder Kidada Miller asks people to register so they can ensure they have enough toys. Thirty turkeys will also be available to those who reserve them.

“I just want to help. I don’t want to have all these toys to take home,” Miller joked. “Every year we’re adding new elements and new pieces of the puzzle. I’m really excited about this year and what we’re able to do in the community.”

When you register for the giveaway by emailing KMillerFoundation13@gmail.com or texting 314-328-0626, Miller will ask for your child’s gender and age. No other information is required.

Caregivers can choose any gift they want; Miller is aiming for every child to receive two to three toys. Walk-ins will also be accepted, but might have less choice.

Caregivers can bring their children or leave them at home. Miller made sure there were activities for kids to enjoy. They can play in a life-size snowglobe, hang out at the coloring station, and enjoy snacks at the hot chocolate bar.

“It’s not just a giveaway. It’s a community event,” Miller said. “Come sit down, have a cup of hot chocolate, take a load off for a while if you need to and just let the kids burn off some energy while they’re there.”

Miller thanked the sponsors who helped make this giveaway possible, including Tor Hoerman Law, which donated the 30 turkeys. Walmart, Toys 4 Tots, Simmons Hanly Conroy, and Diamond & Pearl Fashion Boutique also donated.

Community members can help out by visiting the official K Miller Foundation website, where you can donate online. Miller will also travel to pick up donations as needed. They are especially in need of gifts for teenagers. She expressed her gratitude for all donations.

Miller founded the K Miller Foundation after realizing how many community members could use a little help, especially around the holidays. She started the annual toy giveaway six years ago in her mother’s basement using her own money, and she is proud of how the event has grown.

As an organization, they also host the Midwest Best of the Black Awards gala to uplift Black entrepreneurs across the region by recognizing their work and giving out grants and scholarships. This annual event is always a big hit in Alton, and Miller hopes it helps entrepreneurs get the lift they need. She also offers a variety of classes for entrepreneurs to learn more about business.

“I’m just trying to keep them educated on the ins and outs so that they can do it right and have successful businesses within the area, especially in Alton, because we’re a little family,” she said. “We’re all a small family, and just trying to make everybody connect and understand that we’re better together. We all need that help there.”

The toy giveaway aims to help this family across Madison County. For more information about the Dec. 20 toy giveaway or to register and reserve your turkey, email KMillerFoundation13@gmail.com or call or text Miller directly at 314-328-0626.
