Confluence Wealth Management, a locally owned financial planning and wealth management firm affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services, works with Riverbend residents throughout the community. Co-owners Jack Hoelscher and Robert Diaz were excited to see many of their clients come together on Dec. 11, 2025, to celebrate the holiday season and support a good cause.

“It’s really about bringing everyone together to enjoy themselves and celebrate what a great year it’s been—while also supporting a very worthy cause,” Hoelscher said. “We came into this business for the people—those connections and relationships are what matter most.”

Located at Old Bakery Beer Company, the soirée invited clients to connect with each other and learn more about the Alton Chapter of Wreaths Across America, a non-profit organization that honors veterans by conducting wreath laying ceremonies every December at the Alton National Cemetery.

Clients were encouraged to donate if possible, and Confluence Wealth Management provided a donation of $3,000 to kick off the giving.

Hoelscher and Diaz explained that this is the fourth year that Confluence has hosted a client appreciation Christmas party. Last year, they highlighted Crisis Food Center. They were eager for the chance to help another organization in the community, especially around the holiday season.

“It’s a great chance for people to remake some connections they’ve had from the past and then also make new connections under this common umbrella of working with us and supporting Wreaths Across America,” Diaz explained. “Our clients are very generous people, and we were glad to help support with our own donation.”

“Our Wreaths Across America experience in Alton began in 2007 as a leap of faith. With no source of funding 560 graves to cover with live balsam wreaths, it seemed like a daunting task and a dream,” said Margaret Hopkins, the Alton Location Coordinator of Wreaths Across America. “The Riverbend Community believed in the mission to REMEMBER the fallen, HONOR those who serve and TEACH children the value of freedom.”

“Over the past 19 years we have been successful in accomplishing that effort because of that same faith, with the generosity of our community and their gratitude to all those who serve and have served us. This year’s theme for WAA is ‘KEEP MOVING FORWARD’ and that’s what we intend to do for many years to come as we continue to share the mission and keep the spirit moving.”

Hoelscher and Diaz thanked their clients for the donations and a fun evening. Giving back is important to Confluence Wealth Management, and they said they are pleased that their firm could help a local organization that does so much for the community.

“Robert and I are community-oriented people. We’re both from Alton. A lot of our clients are, as well. We appreciate any opportunity we have to give back,” Hoelscher added. “We truly believe that we are helping every person we work with to better their financial future, and in turn, that’s going to better the community that we live in when people are more financially secure.”
