HARDIN - Calhoun-Brussels and Carrollton girls basketball teams continued their strong starts to the 2025-2026 season with victories on Thursday night.

Calhoun-Brussels defeated Pittsfield/Griggsville-Perry 45-30 at home on Dec. 11, 2025. The Lady Warriors trailed after the first quarter but tightened their defense in the second quarter to take control of the game. Calhoun-Brussels scored 13, 9, 12, and 11 points across the four quarters, while Pittsfield/Griggsville-Perry managed 14, 2, 6 and 8 points in each quarter.
Senior guard Bralyn Lammy led the Lady Warriors with 15 points, including three three-pointers and four steals. Layla Longnecker contributed eight points, hitting two triples in the second half. Sadie Kiel added 10 points and eight rebounds, and Anna Eberlin recorded four points along with five rebounds, four steals and four blocks. Calhoun-Brussels improved to 3-4 with the win.
Calhoun Coach Mark Hillen said, “The Lady Warriors trailed after one, but locked down on defense in the second quarter and took command of the game.”
Carrollton Thumps Barry Western 52-34
In another game Thursday, the Carrollton Hawks girls team defeated Barry Western 52-34 to improve their record to 8-2. Carrollton’s next games are scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Quincy Notre Dame, Monday at home against TMCV (CO-OP), and Dec. 18 at home against Pittsfield.
