ALTON - The Alton High School girls' bowling teams continued their strong season this week with multiple matches and upcoming tournament play.
On Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, the Alton High School (AHS) junior varsity and varsity teams both secured victories against Edwardsville at Edison’s Lanes in Edwardsville. The JV team improved to 7-0, while the varsity team enhanced its record to 37-3. Standout performers for the JV included Sidney Scyoc and Jaycee Dwiggins.

The Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, match saw the varsity team face Belleville East at Bel Air Lanes in Belleville, resulting in a 20-20 tie. Belleville East’s Peyton Streater bowled a perfect 300 game against the Redbirds. For Alton, Kylie Steinkuehler led with a high game of 237 and a series of 589. Lindsey Reibel contributed a 545 series, while Jillian Dwiggins posted a 598 series. On the JV side, Alton secured a 4-3 win over the Lady Lancers with Isa Espinoza’s 543 series, Sidney Scyoc’s 496 series, and Myra Sutton’s high game of 228 and 519 series playing key roles.
The Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, competition pitted the AHS Redbirds against the Collinsville Kahoks at Camelot Bowl in Collinsville. The Kahoks edged out Alton 21-19. Despite losing the first two games by narrow margins (13 pins and 8 pins respectively), the Redbirds rallied to win the third game 829-745 and the overall match total 2,443-2,380. Jillian Dwiggins led the varsity with a 606 series (213, 210, 183), and Jaycee Dwiggins contributed a 199 game in the third game. On the JV side, Sidney Scyoc (403 series) and Myra Sutton (433 series) helped the Redbirds overcome the Kahoks.
Looking ahead to the weekend, AHS is dividing its squad for tournament play, sending six individuals to Joliet and six bowlers to Belleville for the Lancers Team Challenge.
The Redbirds will face O’Fallon on Monday, Dec. 15, at St. Clair Lanes in O’Fallon. Alton will also host the Alton Invitational on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at Bowl Haven Lanes.
