O’FALLON, Ill. – The holiday season has always carried deep meaning at Andria’s Steakhouse. It is a time filled with familiar faces, shared meals, and traditions that span generations. But for many families, the holidays also bring reminders of who is missing. Grief has a way of showing up quietly at the table, especially in December. This year, we are choosing to acknowledge it, honor it, and respond with care.

On December 15 and December 29, Andria’s will host two Merry Mondays, which are special evenings of dining and giving, with fifty percent of all proceeds donated to Heartlinks Grief Center. These nights are designed to be warm, intentional gatherings that invite people to come together in support of those navigating loss during one of the most emotionally complex times of the year.

As a family business built on legacy and hospitality, grief is not an abstract idea for us. It is woven into our history, our relationships, and the stories carried within these walls. We understand that love and loss often exist side by side, and that remembering those who came before us is part of what gives our work meaning today.

Heartlinks Grief Center has been a steady presence in our community since 1997, offering counseling, support groups, and outreach to children, families, and individuals facing grief. Their work matters deeply, especially when you consider that in Illinois, one in twelve children will lose a parent or sibling before the age of eighteen. The holidays can magnify that pain, but they can also be a time when support and togetherness make a real difference.

Each Merry Monday features a chef-curated menu created exclusively for the evening, with our regular menu set aside so we can fully focus on the experience and the purpose behind it.

December 15 – Poinsettias and Pinot

This evening centers on comfort and connection, with dishes like Short Rib Pappardelle, Top Sirloin with Cabernet Reduction, and Cranberry Cheesecake, paired with festive seasonal cocktails. Live music and a themed photo experience will help create an atmosphere that feels both celebratory and reflective.

December 29 – Before the Ball

As the year draws to a close, this evening offers a moment to pause before stepping into what comes next. The menu includes Top Sirloin with Miso Black Garlic Sauce, Blackened Chicken, and Grilled Salmon with Porcini Mushrooms and Red Wine Reduction.

Merry Mondays is about more than fundraising. It is about creating space for community, acknowledging grief without fear, and turning shared meals into something that reaches beyond the table. When people gather with intention, something shifts. Grief softens. Gratitude rises. And no one feels quite so alone.

We invite our community to join us for one or both of these evenings. Your presence helps support Heartlinks Grief Center and the families they serve, and it reminds all of us that even in seasons of loss, there is still room for connection, compassion, and hope.
