
CAHOKIA HEIGHTS - The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday evening on Walnut Street.

At approximately 9:11 p.m. on December 12, 2025, officers from the Cahokia Heights Police Department responded to the 3900 block of Walnut Street in Cahokia Heights, St. Clair County, Illinois, after reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers found a 67-year-old white male with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was called in to assist with the investigation. Captain Robert Thomason of the Belleville Police Department is serving as the Deputy Commander for the activation.
