The Board of Education has unanimously approved the appointment of Angela Kuchnicki to the role, effective May 1, 2026. During the Board’s regular meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, Kuchnicki expressed her excitement to take on the position and serve students in a new capacity.
“I’ve worked at Alton for the past 22 years, and this role represents a meaningful next step for me and a continued commitment to our district,” she said. “I am grateful for the confidence, and I look forward to continuing our shared goals to support students, families and staff across the district.”
Kuchnicki holds a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She has also received an education specialist degree and principalship endorsement from SIUE.
She first joined the Alton School District in 2004 as a speech-language pathologist. She served in this role until 2020, when she was promoted to Special Education Supervisor for early childhood through fifth grade. She has also worked as the 21st Century Program Director at Alton.
Kuchnicki has worked closely with the current Director of Student Services, and she looks forward to taking on the position and sharing her expertise with the district in a new role.
The Board of Education and administration congratulated her and expressed their confidence in her ability. They look forward to seeing her succeed.
