GRAFTON — The Grafton City Council honored the Grafton Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, for its ongoing efforts to promote local businesses and position the river town as a unique visitor destination.

At the council meeting, Mayor Mike Morrow presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Chamber, whose theme encourages visitors to “Come visit, enjoy Grafton and plan a return adventure.” Dan Ebbing, president of the Chamber, accepted the certificate and thanked all who contributed to the organization’s recent events, including the Treat Trail, Christmas Parade, Santa Con, and the city-wide Christmas dinner held at Aeries.

Mayor Morrow expressed his gratitude for the Chamber’s work in bringing engaging events to the community. “They surely make a difference for our town as they put Grafton first in their plans,” he said.

The following day, Wednesday, December 17, 2025, Grafton’s senior citizens gathered at City Hall for their monthly Christmas lunch and bingo event. The gathering, which takes place on the third Wednesday of each month, brought together the “55 and better” group for their final lunch of 2025. Alderwoman Donna Smith, who oversees the Community Outreach Committee that organizes the events, distributed cozy blankets donated by the Grafton Food Pantry to each household in attendance. After a meal, participants enjoyed bingo and prizes. The event also celebrated three seniors aged 90 and older.

“Everyone who comes looks forward to these fun monthly get-togethers, and we are always happy to see them,” Mayor Morrow said.

Photos from the events were taken by City Photographer Dave Sanford and Paula Jamison.
