Merkle, a senior, has been involved in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization since her freshman year. She stays busy with FFA, previously serving as the group’s historian and now currently as the president of the Highland chapter.
She loves working with her classmates to learn more about agriculture. She likes to stay busy and does a lot both in and out of school to keep moving and improving.
She also enjoys bowling, as she has been an avid bowler since age 5. She participates with Highland’s bowling team and competes across the region with her teammates.
Merkle works at a local bowling alley and also regularly mows, babysits and dogsits for extra money. She also spends a lot of time farming and building up the FFA program. In her free time, she can be found bowling for fun and baking.
She knows exactly what she wants to do after high school. Her teachers and loved ones can’t wait to see her go on and succeed.
“[I plan to] attend Murray State for pre-vet medicine,” Merkle shared.
Congratulations to Haley for this recognition by Highland High School and Platinum Transportation!
