
SPRINGFIELD, IL., - Jersey Community High School and Jersey Community Middle School cheer squads traveled to Springfield this past weekend to compete in the Illinois Cheerleaders Coaches Association (ICCA) State Competition at the Bank of Springfield Center.

The varsity competition took place Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, followed by the junior varsity event on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026.
Both Jersey squads delivered solid performances, with the JCHS Lady Panthers finishing 15th overall in the varsity division.
Jersey’s cheerleaders were named Sparklight Female Athletes of the Month for their efforts during the competition.
Highland claimed the 2A Championship at the event, followed by Civic Memorial in second place and Jacksonville in third.
Jersey narrowly trailed Mascoutah, which secured 14th place. The Lady Panthers edged out Kankakee (16th), Ridgewood (17th), Hillcrest (18th), and Walter Payton College Prep (19th).
