On Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, six couples will be married at Vera Lee Meeting and Event Venue in Alton in a series of pop-up weddings. Kirstan Gray, owner of Vera Lee, can’t wait to give couples an affordable alternative to their special day.
“What this is designed to be is a one-stop wedding experience without the full-blown wedding. It’s a pop-up wedding on steroids,” Gray explained. “We’re trying to introduce a premium side to the pop-up experience, to give more than just the minimum, but still make it affordable.”
Couples will choose an hour time slot on Feb. 14, with special prices for symbolic times like 2:14 p.m. and 4:44 p.m. All they need to bring is themselves and their wedding certificate. Depending on the package they choose, they can include six to 12 guests.

A photographer and videographer will be present to document the day. In addition to the ceremony itself, couples will have the opportunity to walk down the aisle and enjoy a cake cutting. They can also do a champagne toast and a first dance. Vera Lee will provide decorations and photos.
All of this takes one hour and costs $799 or $1,149 depending on the package you choose, with a few additional options available. Gray emphasized that it’s a good compromise between a micro wedding and a pop-up wedding, but still affordable.
He added that pop-up weddings aren’t readily available in the Riverbend, so Vera Lee is excited to offer this experience.
Though he respects that many couples choose to go to the courthouse, he noted that Vera Lee’s Valentine’s Day offer is a chance to go beyond a courthouse wedding. You can include your loved ones and some of the classic wedding traditions without breaking the bank.
“It’s a great day, a great opportunity to share it with their loved ones,” he said. “It’s not a wedding in a box. It’s definitely an experience. They get to do more. They get to raise a glass with family. You’re not doing that at the courthouse.”
Gray believes this event is also a great opportunity to renew your vows. He recognizes that many couples celebrate their anniversary on Valentine’s Day, and this can be a special celebration.
Whether you’re getting married or renewing your vows, Gray hopes Vera Lee’s Valentine’s Day wedding packages will be a great experience for the couples who decide to celebrate on that day.
“Valentine's Day is always the strong day where you get a lot of people that want to get married. They want to have an experience. And let’s be real: the younger generation now, everything is about an Instagrammable moment. We have this designed to be an Instagrammable moment,” he said. “Valentine's Day is a special event, and it doesn’t come every Saturday.”
