BOYS BASKETBALL

BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 43. METRO-EAST LUTHERAN 34: In a Gateway Metro Conference game at Glenn Schott Center, Althoff led at halftime 18-13, and held off a Metro-East third-quarter rally to post the win.

Kyle Johnson led the Crusaders with 12 points, while both Steven Brown and Michael Franklin, Jr. followed up with six points each.

Althoff is now 10-7, while the Knights go to 4-12.

COLUMBIA 71, WATERLOO GIBAULT CATHOLIC 43: Columbia trailed Gibault after one quarter 13-11, then went on to outscore the Hawks the rest of the way 62-32 to take the win on the road.

Eddie Smajic had a big game for the Eagles with 30 points, while Kyle Chubb added 10 points.

Columbia is now 11-4, while Gibault goes to 5-12.

BELLEVILLE WEST 54, O'FALLON 43: In the Southwestern Conference, Belleville West got the road win at the OTHS Panther Dome.

J'Dyn Lloyd led the Maroons with 21 points, while T.J. Cason IV had 12 points.

West is now 10-6, while the Panthers are now 5-15.

EAST ST. LOUIS 74, COLLINSVILLE 49: East St. Louis and Collinsville were tied after the first quarter, 13-13, then the Flyers, the state's top-ranked Class 3A team, outscored the Kahoks the rest of the way 61-36 to win the SWC game at Vergil Fletcher Gym.

Jamison White led East Side with 18 points, while O. Houston scored 17 points, both Philip Jones and O. Watson had 11 points each, and Alex Johnson scored 10 points.

The Flyers are now 16-2, while Collinsville drops to 7-11.

In the rest of the Tuesday fixtures, Edwardsville defeated St. Louis Gateway STEM 64-30, Granite City won at home over Highland 64-41, Cahokia stopped Waterloo 54-47, Marquette Catholic won over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 51-22, Breese Mater Dei Catholic got past Casey-Westfield 63-55, Triad won at Litchfield 58-20, Lebanon edged Mt. Olive 54-52, Carlyle won over Red Bud 61-36, Alton stopped Belleville East 57-47, Breese Central defeated Trenton Wesclin 55-46, and Carlinville topped Barry Western 52-30.

JERSEY ROUNDUP

WEEKEND

JCHS boys and girls bowling teams competed in the MVC Tournament this weekend. The boys team finished 19th out of 28 teams. Individually, Aaron Hughes led the Panthers with a 34th place finish and a 624 series. Hayden Longley placed 51st with a 597 series, while Jacob Hetzel finished 81st with a 556 series. The Lady Panthers also placed 19th, finishing among 24 teams. Mila Lancaster earned a 45th place finish with a 495 series. Sophie Hetzel followed in 59th place with a 452 series, and Lauren Towell finished 73rd with a 432 series.

JCMS (7/8) Wrestling traveled to Jacksonville and finished 4th out of 22 teams. Top performers included Wade Ball and Brody Olano, who both won individual championships. Grayson Mangara, Bennett Leslie, and Caleb Olano each earned 2nd-place finishes. Brody White placed 5th, while Mason Warren and Andrew Ray both finished 8th. Charlotte Hinkson also had a strong showing, placing 3rd in the girls division.

JCHS Girls and Boys Basketball traveled to Triad for Mega Night. The JV girls lost 39–63 and the Varsity fell 56–62. The JV boys lost 37–51, while the Varsity dropped a 35–50 game.

TUESDAY

JCMS (7/8) Wrestling traveled to Collinsville and came away with a hard-fought 51–47 victory. Leading the way for the 8th grade were standout performances from Wade Ball, Carter Scott, Grayson Mangara, Caleb Olano, Brody White, and Brody Olano.

JCMS (7/8) Boys basketball hosted Trimpe Middle School. The 7th grade team fell 16–50, while the 8th grade team earned an exciting 52–50 victory.

JCHS JV/V Basketball hosted Gillespie. The JV team fell 18-30, while the Varsity Panthers won 44-36.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

GRANITE CITY 54, DUPO 24: Granite City led at the break 37-5 in going on to the win at Dupo.

Tyhlee Simms led the Warriors with 14 points, while Taliyah Sykes added 12 points.

Granite is now 14-4, while the Tigers go to 3-10.

O'FALLON 64, BELLEVILLE WEST 17: O'Fallon led at halftime 34-9 in going on the Southwestern Conference win at the West gym.

Josie Christopher came up big for the Panthers with 30 points, while both Kayla Kalmer and Sasha Kelly had six points each.

O'Fallon is now 12-5, while the Maroons fall to 4-14.

OAKVILLE 72, COLUMBIA 60: South St. Louis County's Oakville led at halftime 30-28, then outscored Columbia in the second half 42-32 to take the win at Columbia's gym.

Kinley Jany led the Eagles with 24 points, while Addison Dewilde hit for 17 points, and Ava Mathews added 13 points.

The Tigers improve to 8-5, while Columbia is now 12-7.

COLLINSVILLE 65, EAST ST, LOUIS 34: In another Southwestern Conference game, Collinsville led at the interval 37-14 and went on to win at East Side's gym.

Addison Muniz led the Kahoks with 15 points, with Jayla Wysinger scoring 12 points, and Morgan Harris-Goliday added on 11 points. The Flyers were led by Lynajah Smith's 13 points, while Areeuna Munson hit for 10 points.

Collinsville goes to 6-12, while East Side is now 2-15.

In the rest of Tuesday's schedule, Marquette Catholic turned back Carrollton 32-22, Marissa-Coulterville got past New Athens 39-34, Alton won over Belleville East 59-55, Mt. Vernon topped Triad 65-43, Hardin Calhoun defeated Barry Western 35-23, and in a result from Monday, Carrollton topped Riverton 55-25.
