WINCHESTER - Calhoun's boys advanced to the semifinals of the Winchester Invitational Tournament with a 56-46 victory over West Central on Wednesday night, Jan. 14, 2026. Lane Eilerman led Calhoun with 18 points, bringing his career total to 995 points.

Eilerman is expected to surpass the 1,000-point milestone in the upcoming Winchester Tourney semifinal game against Staunton on Friday in the tournament.
Calhoun took an early lead, outscoring West Central 19-9 in the first quarter and maintaining the advantage throughout the game. The Wildcats added 14 points in the second quarter and 11 in the third, while West Central rallied with 17 points in the third quarter but could not close the gap in the fourth.
Other contributors for Calhoun included Jack Zipprich with 10 points, Blake Nolte with 7, Charlie Matthews with 8, Easton Wallendorf with 6, and Gage Kiel with 3.
West Central’s leading scorer was Hamilton with 15 points, followed by Howard with 9 and Sidwell with 8.
Calhoun made three 3-pointers, two by Wallendorf and one by Kiel, while West Central converted four, three by Hamilton and one by Clevenger. The Wildcats committed 18 fouls, with Brannan leading in fouls for Calhoun, and West Central had 21 fouls, with Vortman having the most.
With the win, Calhoun improved its record to 11-2 and will face Staunton in the Winchester Invite semifinals.
