
MARYVILLE - Maryville Christian's boys defeated Father McGivney Catholic 56-49 in a closely contested Greater Metro Conference game on Tuesday night, Jan. 13, 2026, at Maryville’s gym.

The home team Lions, pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Griffins 21-8 to secure the victory. Maryville Christian improved to 9-7 on the season, while Father McGivney Catholic fell to 12-7.
Maryville Christian’s head coach Mark Allaria praised his team’s effort following the win over their nearby rivals.
“Our guys really competed hard last night in a really great atmosphere in our home gym,” Allaria said. “I was happy for them to be able to get a conference win.”
Maryville Christian had balanced scoring with Judah Amsden, with 19 points to lead his team. Braden Waymire and Nate Laughlin had 10 points apiece. Gavin Ambuehl had 8 points, and Nolan Hite had 7 points for Maryville Christian.
Carson Barone led Father McGivney with 20 points, and Chase Jensen added nine points for the Griffins.
The game remained tight through three quarters, with Maryville leading 42-30 going into the final period.
The Lions held off a late push by Father McGivney to secure the seven-point victory.
