ALTON - Community members have the opportunity to support the Alton Athletic Association at their upcoming music trivia night.

On Feb. 28, 2026, at St. Mary’s Suddes Hall in Alton, the AAA will host their annual music trivia to support Alton Community Unit School District #11 athletes. Riverbend residents are encouraged to reserve their tables or donate to the silent auction to support the cause. Organizers believe it’s a fun way to support the kids.

“It’s not your mama’s trivia,” joked Amy Lombardi, president of the AAA.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia starts at 7 p.m. on Feb. 28. A table of eight costs $200, and water, soda and beer are included. Participants are encouraged to bring their own snacks.

There will be a silent auction, and donations of all sizes are appreciated as organizers finalize items for the baskets. Businesses are also encouraged to sponsor a round of trivia.

All proceeds go toward the AAA, which has donated over $90,000 to Alton teams. The AAA helps these teams afford new uniforms, overnight stays in hotel rooms, weights, additional equipment and more so the students can focus on their sports.

“This is stuff that they need to have to be good athletes,” said Craig Lombardi, AAA public relations chair and trivia night emcee. “It’s not just a little clique. It is everyone. We are trying to do this for every sport, literally.”

The AAA also prints banners to hang uptown in celebration of these student athletes. Craig noted that these banners “literally will make you tear up” because the kids are so excited to be recognized.

Carlson Pruitt with AAA expressed his gratitude for the Alton-Godfrey community, which does a lot to support the students. He added that parents and students go out of their way to volunteer for the AAA, whether that’s by running the concession stand or advocating for the AAA during fundraisers like the music trivia night.

“With our parents at the school, it’s volunteer, volunteer, volunteer,” Pruitt said. “We run concession stands year round. It’s very important to have those parents and the athletes show up to help with those. That’s a good generator of money.”

Looking ahead, the AAA doesn’t plan to stop any time soon. These parents are dedicated to the mission of helping Alton’s student athletes succeed. The community can assist by donating, volunteering or attending the music trivia night on Feb. 28, which promises to be “a blast.”

“If you want to sponsor this, come to our trivia,” Craig added. “I would imagine we’re going to continue to help Alton as much as we can for as long as we can.”
