On Jan. 16, 2026, White led the Flyers with 23 points in a 60-45 win at Edwardsville to help keep East Side undefeated in the Southwestern Conference. The next night, in a co-feature game against Frederick Douglass of Oklahoma City at the Southern Illinois Shootout at Belleville Althoff Catholic's Glenn Schott Center, White hit for 11 points as one of five players in double figures as the Flyers defeated the Trojans 75-67.
For the season, White leads the team in both scoring, averaging 20 points and 12.9 rebounds-per-game, and also has 22 assists and 24 steals. In his postgame interview following the win over the Tigers, he felt good about the win, but also knew there were still plenty of things to work on in his game.
"I'm feeling good," White said. "But we have to still go back to practice, and go back to the gym. We've got things to work on."
The Flyers are currently the top-ranked team in the state Associated Press Class 3A poll, and are currently 17-2. White feels that things have indeed gone well for the season so far.
"They're going good," White said. "I still have, as I told you, things to work on, so we can be a better team. Hopefully, we can end the year with only a two-loss year."
The Flyers have indeed played well all season, and White's teammates, such as Philip Jones, Alex Johnson, and Terri'yon Webster, have all made major contributions to East Side's success. White and the Flyers have only one goal in mind as the IHSA playoffs draw near.
"State champions," White said. "That's the only goal and aspiration for the season, winning the state championship."
East Side finished third in Class 3A last season and obviously wants to go one game further and win it.
"Exactly," White said. "We've gotta win. We've gotta get it. No other options."
The Flyers did start exceptionally well against Edwardsville, holding a 38-18 lead at halftime, before allowing the Tigers to come back in the fourth quarter and pull to within 52-45, but held off Edwardsville to score the last eight points of the game to take the win. They didn't panic, held their composure, and completed the win.
"I am just trying to listen to the coach (Mark Chambers), and do what he says. They obviously came back at the end, but had to hold them off. Just trying not to let them get under our skin, and we know what to do."
