ALTON - Alton’s boys bowling team finished second at the regional tournament Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, scoring 6,018 points, just behind Civic Memorial’s 6,034.
“We bowled great and were in first all day,” Alton head boys bowling coach Ray Lewis said. “We had one bad game and it hurt us, and CM kept bowling well and passed us up and won. The same thing happened to us last year at the regional, but we came back even stronger and won the sectional, so if we keep the same pace, we can do it again this year.”

Lewis expressed pride in his team’s chemistry and performance throughout the season.
“I’m so proud of this whole team and how much chemistry they have together,” he said. “Lucas Ventimiglia, Brayden Buchanan, Jackson Lewis, Ben Schultz, and Joey Ventimiglia are my starting five this year, and they can bowl very well when they need to.”
The top performers for Alton included junior Lucas Ventimiglia with 1,315 points; seniors Jackson Lewis with 1,234, Brayden Buchanan with 1,230, Joey Ventimiglia with 1,149; and Ben Schultz with 1,090.
