Ryan Cleland and Infinite Wellness Integrative Medical Center in Glen Carbon entered into a $249,258.24 settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General. This agreement resolves allegations that the clinic presented false and fraudulent claims for treatments that were not medically reasonable or necessary.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General, the clinic allegedly presented fraudulent claims to the Medicare Part B Program for electrical cell signaling treatments using codes for electrical stimulation and vitamin injections. These treatments were “not medically reasonable or necessary and not reimbursable by Medicare,” according to the Office of the Inspector General.
Infinite Wellness Integrative Medical Center offers chiropractic care and injections to help people dealing with joint and nerve pain. They also have treatments for medical weight loss and hormone replacement.
Ryan Cleland, who was named in the settlement, responded to these allegations and clarified that the settlement is not an admission of liability. He added that patients have benefited from the services provided by Infinite Wellness Integrative Medical Center.
“The services at issue, which took place years ago, between May 11, 2020 and April 25, 2022, were reviewed in a post-payment Medicare audit,” he said. “While we disagreed with Medicare’s allegation that the services should not be covered, particularly because our patients benefited from the services, we decided to resolve the dispute through settlement. We made no admission of liability, and this dispute has been resolved with Medicare since September 2025.”
