ALTON - Alton Elite Jiu-Jitsu has a special opportunity for martial arts enthusiasts.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, community members can enjoy a seminar with Kyle Watson, a fourth degree Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and owner of Watson Martial Arts. Hosted by Alton Elite, Watson will share his skills with students and inspire them to commit to their training.

“[Watson] is basically our fearless leader,” said Jacqueline, general manager at Alton Elite. “His academy is just hands-down one of the best in the country, not just the area. So having him and an opportunity to provide a free seminar for our students and our affiliates — it’s one of the best things.”

Alton Elite is an affiliate gym under Watson, and they are eager for him to see the gym for himself and share his knowledge with the local martial arts community.

The seminar is open to all gyms, and attendees are encouraged to wear their gi. You can visit the official Facebook event page for more information.

Alton Elite Jiu-Jitsu offers a variety of classes and deals, including a seven-day free trial and a $99 winter special. Jacqueline believes Alton Elite is truly above the rest, and she looks forward to introducing the gym to community members who attend the Kyle Watson seminar.

Jacqueline shared that she began her training under Watson, and she has enjoyed watching his career unfold. She was inspired by him to continue her training and ultimately become a coach herself.

As the gym prepares for the seminar, Jacqueline hopes to welcome many people who want to learn more about jiu-jitsu from a local master. She is honored to have started her journey with Watson and eager to share this experience with others.

“We want everybody to show up for our seminar,” she said. “It’s going to be phenomenal. Kyle is just an incredible person to get to learn from, so every opportunity is, I think, worth taking.”
