“Our community partnerships are a reflection of the people who work here,” said Melissa Erker, Manager of Public Affairs West Region for Phillips 66. “When you see this level of investment—more than $1.3 million—you’re really seeing the collective commitment of our employees to strengthen the places where we live and work.”

Investing Where It Matters

In 2025, the refinery’s community investment included:

  • $706,556 in direct contributions from Phillips 66 supporting education, environmental sustainability, community safety, and social advancement;
  • $176,633 raised through the United Way Campaign;
  • $277,870 provided through the Volunteer Grant Program; and
  • $201,739 donated through the Matching Gift Program.

Funding supported more than 100 regional organizations, including Glen-Ed Pantry, Curtain’s Up Theater Group, South Roxana Fire Protection District, Wood River Parks & Recreation, Riverbend Family Ministries, Living

Lands & Waters and Community Hope Center.

Hands-On Service

Employee volunteerism remained a driving force behind the refinery’s impact. Hundreds of Wood River Refinery employees logged thousands of hours supporting causes from youth mentorship and food security to environmental cleanup and community restoration projects.

“Our employees continue to amaze me,” Erker added. “They show up after work, on weekends, and during company projects—not because they have to, but because they care. Their volunteer hours translate into real financial contributions for organizations that truly make a difference.”
