Rhotten said the decision came after multiple teams withdrew from the meet and concerns arose about the availability of bus transportation.

“With multiple teams dropping out of the meet, bus companies are iffy on if they can make the trip, and with due caution for everyone involved, we have decided to cancel the meet on Saturday,” Rhotten said.

The organizers encouraged teams and participants to plan for next year’s event on the corresponding date. Those who have already paid entry fees may choose to roll their fees over to next year or request a refund by contacting Stacey Shulte at sschulte@ecusd7.org.

Rhotten also extended well wishes for safety and warmth over the weekend and expressed anticipation for the upcoming sectional meet at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center in a few weeks.
