GIRLS BASKETBALL
Games on the schedule, including Chatham Glenwood at Alton, Mt. Olive at Dupo, Campbell Hill Trico at Waterloo Gibault Catholic, Belleville East at Mascoutah, and Red Bud at Valmeyer, were all postponed.
Make-up dates have yet to be announced. Chatham Glenwood at Alton was also postponed, with a make-up date of Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
In addition, a boys basketball game, Collinsville at Metro-East Lutheran, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed. No make-up date has been announced as of yet.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 24 PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS ROUNDUP
BOYS BASKETBALL
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 45, LITCHFIELD 35: On the final day of the Rick McGraw Memorial tournament in Litchfield, McGivney took a win over the host Purple Panthers.
Both Carson Barone and Henry WIllenborg scored 14 points each for the Griffins, while Chase Jansen scored 10 points.
McGivney is now 14-10, while Litchfield goes to 11-11.
TRIAD 57, ROXANA 44: In the Rick McGraw final, Triad won its fourth consecutive tournament championship by defeating Roxana.
Mac Musgrave led the Knights with 16 points, while Tyler Thompson came up with 15 points, and Luke Thompson hit for 14 points.
Triad is now 17-5, while the Shells go to 15-7.
In other games played on Saturday, at the Rick McGraw Memorial, Marquette Catholic nipped Taylorville 58-56, at the Okawville tournament, the host Rockets won over Carlyle 62-35, in the Sparta Mid-Winter Classic, Campbell Hill Trico turned back Marissa-Coulterville 66-42, Freeburg held off Murphysboro 57-51 and Red Bud won over Steeleville 56-49, and in the Nashville tournament final, the host Hornets doubled up on Breese Central 66-33.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
STAUNTON 45, CARLINVILLE 28: In the Macoupin County tournament final at Virden North Mac, Staunton took the county title, leading Carlinville at the half 19-10 and went on to the win.
Kaydn Legendre led the Bulldogs with 14 points, while Anna Machota scored 12 points, and Laynie Weller added 11 points. Kaitlyn Reels led the Cavaliers with 16 points, while Ruthie Reels added six points.
Staunton is now 17-6, while Carlinville slips to 10-14.
In the opening day of the 51st Carrollton Lady Hawk Invitational, Nokomis defeated Madison 86-21, Marquette Catholic topped Beardstown 54-21, Granite City won over Raymond Lincolnwood 44-25, Winchester West Central defeated Roxana 46-41, Father McGivney Catholic got past Greenfield Northwestern 54-24, and Jersey defeated Calhoun 53-28.

BOYS BASKETBALL
O'FALLON 70, ST. LOUIS MILLER CAREER ACADEMY 64: O'Fallon trailed at Miller Career at the half 31-27, but rallied in the second half to outscore the Phoenix 43-33 to take the win.
Ben Akoro led the Panthers with 25 points, while Jayden Dancy hit for 16 points, and Sutton Massey scored 13 points.
O'Fallon is now 7-16, while Miller Career goes to 10-8.
BELLEVILLE WEST 43. COLLINSVILLE 40: At the BoS Belleville East Winter Classic, West led Collinsville at the half, 24-23, then held on to take the win.
J'Dyn Lloyd led the Maroons with 19 points, while T.J. Cason IV added eight points. The Kahoks were led by DeAndre Brown's 11 points, while Jace Wilkinson had nine points.
West is now 13-5, while Collinsville slides to 8-14.
COLUMBIA 60, CARLYLE 49: At Okawville, Carlyle and Columbia found themselves in a 10-10 stalemate after the first quarter, but the Eagles outscored the Indians the rest of the way 50-39 to take the win.
Eddie Smajic, fast becoming one of the area's leading scorers, led Columbia with 26 points, while Brody Landgraf came up with 14 points, and Kyle Chubb added 11 points.
The Eagles go to 16-4, while Carlyle is now 10-6.
HAZELWOOD EAST 52, BELLEVILLE EAST 43: In the BoS Belleville East Winter Classic, Hazelwood East, of north St. Louis County, led at the half 30-14, and held off a third quarter rally by the Lancers to take the win.
James Johnson led East with 19 points, while Kenny Wilson added 13 points.
The Spartans are now 12-4, while the Lancers go to 8-12.
CARROLLTON 62, WHITE HALL NORTH GREENE 60: North Greene led at Carrollton's gym at the half 25-24, but the Hawks came back to outscore the Spartans in the second half 39-35 to take the close win.
Liam Albrecht led Carrollton with 17 points, while Brady Clendenen hit for 10 points. North Greene was led by 26 points by Porter Dossett, with Luke Farris coming up with 14 points.
The Hawks go to 9-10, while the Spartans skid to 4-12.
In the other games played on a cold Friday night, Waterloo Gibault Catholic won over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 62-27 in the Okawville tournament, Highland got past Madison 42-40, Freeburg won over Campbell Hill Trico 48-41, it was Edwardsville defeating Decatur Eisenhower 53-40, in the Rick McGraw Memorial Tournament in Litchfield, Triad got past Taylorville 35-30, Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy of Dallas won at East St. Louis 77-62.
In the Nashville Tournament, Breese Central nipped Marion 47-44, it was St. Louis Roosevelt getting past Brooklyn Lovejoy 31-30, on the final day of the Jersey Mid-Winter Classic at Havens Gym, Jacksonville ended Granite City's six-game winning streak with a 66-46 decision, while Cahokia upended the host Panthers 66-59, New Athens streaked past Valmeyer 67.40.
Greenfield Northwester won over East Alton-Wood River 54-41, in the Nashville tournament, the host Hornets won over Mascoutah 61-36, at the Rick McGraw Memorial tournament, Roxana nipped Marquette Catholic 39-35, in the Okawville tournament, Trenton Wesclin won over the host Rockets 60-50, in the final of the Macoupin County Championships, Staunton defeated host Virden North Mac 51-38, while Carlinville won third place over Bunker Hill 60-48.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
In the other fixtures played on Friday night, at the 39th Highland Invitational, Civic Memorial won over the host Bulldogs 47-39, while Chatham Glenwood got past Belleville East 44-40. In a regular season game, Waterloo won over visiting Collinsville 52-40, and at Highland, Nashville defeated Breese Central 68-40. In a pair of results from Thursday, Gillespie won over Piasa Southwestern 38-29, while Greenfield-Northwestern got past Calhoun 36-34.

Southwestern cruised past Gillespie 56-38, led by a 25-point outburst by Cason Robinson.
Carter Bacon added 8 points for the Piasa Birds.
CHATHAM GLENWOOD 48, FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 36: In the Rick McGraw Memorial tournament in Litchfield, Glenwood held off McGivney to take the win.
Henry Willenborg led the Griffins with 11 points, while Carson Barone hit for eight points.
The Titans are now 7-11, while McGivney goes to 13-10.
ST. LOUIS U. HIGH 50, BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 41: In the Belleville East Winter Classic, Althoff led at halftime 23-21, with SLUH coming back to outscore the Crusaders in the second half 29-18 to take the win.
Demaree Koonce led Althoff with 11 points, while Jay Crumble, Jr. came up with 10 points.
The Junior Billikens are now 5-9, while the Crusaders go to 11-10.
In other games played on Thursday, at Okawville, Highland won over Centralia Christ Our Rock Lutheran 59-34, Madison took a 49-41 win over Waterloo Gibault Catholic in Okawville, at the Rick McGraw Memorial, Civic Memorial defeated host Litchfield 69-32. Pinckneyville took a 76-27 decision over Marissa-Coulterville and Carlinville won over Bunker Hill 60-48. In a game played on Wednesday, Dupo won over St. Louis Metro 72-41.

FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 54, BELLEVILLE EAST 16: McGivney led West at the half 35-6, and went on to win.
Alexa Jones led the Griffins with 15 points, while Emerson McGaughey added eight points.
McGivney is now 18-8, while the Maroons go to 4-16.
O'FALLON 68, BREESE MATER DEI CATHOLIC 46: At the 39th Highland Invitational tournament, O'Fallon led at the break 37-20, and went on to the win over Mater Dei.
Josie Christopher had the biggest game of the season so far, scoring 43 points for the Panthers, while both Symone Bynum and Nakia McCottrell added six points each.
O'Fallon is now 14-7, while the Knights slip to 13-7.
FREEBURG 55, GRANITE CITY 28: Freeburg took a 43-12 lead at the half, and went on to take a home win over Granite City.
Jailynn Rae Woods led the Warriors with 13 points, while Malone Grady hit for 12 points.
The Midgets are now 18-6, while Granite is now 15-5.
JERSEY 52, JACKSONVILLE 23: Jersey held a big 31-7 lead at halftime, and went on to the win over Jacksonville at Havens Gym.
Makenna Brunaugh led the Panthers with 16 points, while Neely Goetten had 14 points, and Meredith Gray added 12 points.
Jersey is now 14-9, with the Crimsons going to 4-17.
