Wilson has had several strong games for Edwardsville's boys in the 2025-2026 campaign. He is considered to be one of the up-and-coming players in the area, and in a recent postgame interview that followed a win, Wilson acknowledged his role on the team as very important.
"Well, it's a big role when you're part of Edwardsville, and you're in the Southwestern Conference," Wilson said, "and stepping up to being the role of a starter has made a big impact on me. I just want to contribute to the team, keep doing my job, and do well."
He has made many a positive contributions to the Tigers' wins thus far, and it's something that he wants to keep on doing.
"Yes, that's right," Wilson said. "You've just got to keep on moving forward, and getting better every day at practice, and taking no days off. That's most important for us."
Wilson had some high expectations going into his first days of practice back in November 2025, and he still has the same expectations at this point in his first season with Edwardsville.
"My expectations were pretty high for myself," Wilson said. "I like to set self-goals, but now, going forward, I'm getting into more of the mentality of you're not a freshman anymore, you're more experienced. I just got to keep moving forward, and out of that, I'm a little more comfortable within the game. It's getting better as I keep playing."
Wilson, along with the other Tigers' players, has big plans and goals for the remainder of the season.
"The playoffs, we're preparing now for that," Wilson said, "and as we keep going, big conference wins, and that's really important that we stay locked in within ourselves."
