EDWARDSVILLE 63, BELLEVILLE WEST 14
Edwardsville's girls dominated Belleville West 63-14 in a contest held at EHS on Wednesday night, Jan. 28, 2026.
Journey Anderson led the Tigers' dominant effort with 16 points, while Gabby Cook and Mia Semith responded with 15 points each.
The Tigers are now 11-10 and host 19-2 Alton on Thursday night, Jan. 29, 2026.
MT. OLIVE 55, EAST ALTON-WOOD RIVER 37
East Alton-Wood River's KayLynn Buttry exploded for 24 points in a game at Mt. Olive High School on Wednesday night.
Ryann Adams followed Buttry with 9 points for the Oilers and Hailey Handler added 4 points.
O'FALLON 65, CARBONDALE 44: O'Fallon had little trouble in seeing off visiting Carbondale at the OTHS Panther Dome.
Josie Christopher again came up big for the Panthers, scoring 27 points, while Kayla Kalmer scored 12 points, and both Symone Bynum and Quinn Zerjal had 10 points each.
O'Fallon is now 16-8, while the Terriers go to 17-9.
TRIAD 66, BELLEVILLE ALTHOFF CATHOLIC 43: Triad led from start to finish in taking a non-conference win over Althoff at Rich Mason Gym.
Addy Gentemann led the Knights with 19 points, while Erica Boyce hit for 15 points. The Crusaders were led by Reece Distler, with 14 points, with Livia Tribout adding 11 points.
Triad is now 15-8, while Althoff goes to 7-14.
DUPO 58, COLUMBIA 27: Dupo led Cahokia at halftime 19-12, then outscored the Comanches in the second half 37-15 to win at home.
Mi'Thalia Carraway led Cahokia with seven points, while both Justyce Smith and Janylah Holman had six points each.
The Tigers are now 6-11, while the Comanches go to 2-21.
In other games on Wednesday, Alton won over St. Louis Cardinal Ritter College Prep Catholic 55-53, Waterloo won over visiting Columbia 40-31, Marissa-Coulterville got past Mascoutah 42-41, and Freeburg buried Herculaneum, Mo., 100-36.
In the remaining quarterfinal games of the 51st Carrollton Lady Hawk Invitational tournament, Father McGivney Catholic defeated Granite City 37-20, Winchester West Central turned back Nokomis 50-34, and the host Hawks got past Jersey 44-42.
BOYS BASKETBALL
COLUMBIA 53, WATERLOO 37: Columbia shut out Waterloo in the opening period 4-0, and led at the half 21-3, with the Bulldogs staging a second-half rally, outscoring the Eagles 34-32. The first-half deficit was too much to overcome as Columbia took the road win.
Both Brody Landgraf and Eddie Smajic led the Eagles with 13 points each, while Ayden Sepich added nine points.
Columbia is now 18-4, while Waterloo goes to 4-18.
SPRINGFIELD LUTHERAN 48, CARLINVILLE 38
Springfield Lutheran topped Carlinville 48-38 in a boys game on Wednesday night.
Sawyer Smith led Carlinville with 14 points. Carter Zilm had 8 points and Tate Duckels added 7 points for the Cavaliers.
Meredith had 16 points to lead Springfield Lutheran and Daniel added 13 points.
Carlinville is now 12-9 on the season and Springfield Lutheran is 12-9.
BREESE CENTRAL 43, BELLEVILLE EAST 28: Central jumped out to a 23-13 halftime lead in going on to win over East at home.
Tre'Vian Danley led the Lancers with seven points, while Jordan Williams scored five points.
The Cougars are now 16-7, while East is now 8-13.
JERSEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL ATHLETICS RESULTS
JCMS 6/7/8 Girls Volleyball hosted Jacksonville. The 6th-grade girls fell just short to Jacksonville in 3 sets. The 7th-grade Panthers came back from a first-set 21-25 loss to win sets 2 and 3 both by a score of 25-16.
Piper Fry showed outstanding leadership, helping to boost the energy and confidence of her teammates while making some great plays all around the court. The 8th grade got the win in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-20. Kiyah Knoche led the girls at the service line, going 21/22, including 8 aces and an 11-point run to start set 2.
JCMS Wrestling hosted Lincoln in a hard-fought dual, coming up just short in a 50–53 loss. Standout performances from Andrew Ray, Wade Ball, Carter Scott, Grayson Mangara, Bennett Leslie, Max Hale, and Brody Olano kept the match close until the end.
JCHS Freshman/Sophomore Boys Basketball hosted Alton, with the freshman Panthers falling 29-45 and the Sophomore team coming up short, 51-64.
