Firefighters Extinguish Blaze Quickly In Cottage Hills

COTTAGE HILLS — The Cottage Hills Fire Protection District responded at 2:04 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, to a reported structure fire in the 600 block of Wood River Avenue in Cottage Hills, according to the district.

The district said the fire “was extinguished quickly” with assistance from mutual aid departments.

“With the help and quick responses from its mutual aid departments, the fire was extinguished quickly,” the Cottage Hills Fire Protection District said.

The district thanked Rosewood Heights Fire Department, the Medowbrook Fire Department, Bethalto Fire Department, and Fosterburg Fire Department for their quick assistance in the multi-alarm blaze.
