EDWARDSVILLE – The Madison County Recorder’s Office earned an annual award for the second year in a row for work promoting the Property Fraud Alert (PFA) program recently.
The award is given to a county in Illinois each year for the highest enrollments. Clerk & Recorder, Linda Andreas, has added over 21,000 new subscribers since 2023 towards the total of 28,700 subscribers in Madison County, about 41%. She would like to see this number increase to 100% of property owners. Linda wants the citizens of Madison County to also be aware of another program the Recorder’s Office offers.

This lesser-known program in the Recorder’s office offers the community a rewards program for veterans called Honor Rewards. The program is designed to provide discounts and benefits to local veterans through participating businesses. Once signed up, veterans receive a card that qualifies them for discounts at participating businesses. Local businesses can also sign up to offer these discounts (they receive promotional materials to promote their participation). The program is available at no cost to the county and its taxpayers, making it a free service for veterans. The Recorder’s Office will also record veterans’ important military documents, permitting replacement of these documents to the veteran or the veteran’s family if the original was ever lost. Linda Andreas understands how important veterans service records are from her extensive background in a military family as well as her own service.
