ALTON 65, EAST ST. LOUIS 22: Alton went out to a 35-7 halftime lead and took the Southwestern Conference game at the East St. Louis gym.
Javonni Winters led the Flyers with 10 points, while Lynajah Smith added eight points.
The Redbirds are now 22-2, while East Side goes to 2-19.
WEST CENTRAL 43, CALHOUN 33
West Central topped Calhoun 45-33 in a Thursday night game. Brayln Lammy had 15 points to top Calhoun scorers.
Layla Longnecker added 6 points and Sadie Kiel and Anna Eberlin tallied 5 points each.
Ali Little had 16 points to lead West Central.
BELLEVILLE WEST 50, COLLINSVILLE 39: West led Collinsville at the half 22-10, and went on to the Southwestern Conference win at the West gym.
Karley Call led the Kahoks with eight points, while Allison Fox scored six points.
The Maroons are now 7-15, while Collinsville goes to 6-21.
BREESE CENTRAL 56, COLUMBIA 20: Central built a 26-9 halftime lead in taking the Cahokia Conference Mississippi Division win at Columbia
Riley Bahr led the Eagles with six points, while Lillie Prater hit for five points.
The Cougars go to 23-3, while Columbia is now 14-12.
FATHER MCGIVNEY CATHOLIC 53, MARQUETTE CATHOLIC 24: McGivney led at halftime 21-17, then outscored Marquette in the second half 32-7 to clinch the Gateway Metro Conference championship at home.
Alexa Jones led the Griffins with 18 points, while both Zoe Oller and Layla Tobin came up with 11 points each.
McGivney is now 23-6, while the Explorers slip to 16-11.
PITTSFIELD 57, WHITE HALL NORTH GREENE 39: Visiting Pittsfield led at the break 42-19, and brought home the win over North Greene
Sydney Schultz led the Spartans with 13 points, while Mya Forrester scored 10 points.
The Saukees are now 6-22, with North Greene going to 8-18.
CARLINVILLE 62, VIRDEN NORTH MAC 32: Carlinville led 38-17 at halftime and had little trouble in seeing off North Mac on the road.
Ruthie Reels led the way for the Cavaliers with 17 points, while Blakely Swan hit for 10 points.
Carlinville is now 12-16. while the Panthers go to 8-19
On the rest of the Thursday slate, Salem stopped Freeburg 42-33, O'Fallon won at Edwardsville 53-42, Chester nipped Red Bud 50-48, Piasa Southwestern got past Pana 53-44 and Carlyle got past Red Bud 39-35.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT RESULTS
JERSEY ATHLETICS
JCMS (7/8) Volleyball traveled to Southwestern. The 7th grade team earned a win, 25–16 and 25–18, while the 8th grade Panthers defeated the Birds, 25–11 and 25–20.
JCMS 6th Grade Volleyball traveled to Trimpe to take on Wood River and earned a straight-set win, 25–22 and 25–18.
JCMS Wrestling hosted Mascoutah and earned a dominant 69–23 victory. Congratulations to Wade Ball, Carter Scott, Grayson Mangara, Bennett Leslie, Caleb Olano, Brody White, and Brody Olano for their big wins for the Panthers!
THURSDAY NIGHT RESULTS
JCHS Freshman Basketball hosted CM and lost to the Eagles, 44-73.
JCMS (7/8) Volleyball hosted East Alton and picked up two wins. The 7th grade team won 25–22 and 25–20, while the 8th grade team earned a 25–19, 25–16 victory.
JCHS Scholastic Bowl traveled to Mater Dei for competition. The Varsity Panthers fell to Mater Dei 80–290, defeated Granite City 220–210 in overtime, and earned a strong 200–180 win over Alton. The JV team dropped matches to Granite City and Mater Dei.
