From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Edwardsville American Legion, Danielle and Brandon Adair will host Bricks for Water. This annual event encourages people to play and create with LEGOs, view LEGO displays, and chat with finalists from “LEGO Masters.” Tickets to the event cost $10 and all proceeds go to World Vision International, which provides clean water to communities in need.

“The whole idea is that every dollar in your ticket sales will be donated to World Vision International, who’s the number one nongovernmental provider of water in the world,” Danielle said. “We love it. It’s a cause that’s near and dear to our hearts.”

Danielle and Brandon have been raising money for World Vision International for several years. They often run marathons for the nonprofit, but they are especially excited to host Bricks for Water to combine their other passion — LEGOs — with philanthropy.

Last year, their Bricks for Water event raised close to $10,000. This money all goes toward the World Vision International mission to provide clean drinking water to people across the globe.

They hope to raise even more this year. Tickets to the Bricks for Water event cost $10 and can be purchased online. Kids under age 3 are free.

While typical LEGO shows invite attendees to view LEGO creations, this event will be much more interactive. There will be plenty of displays available for viewing, most of which were created by the Gateway LEGO Users Group, of which Brandon is a member.

But people of all ages are welcome to build and race their own racecars, create art on the graffiti boards, and enjoy a free-play area where creation is encouraged.

Nealita Nelson and Paul Wellington, two finalists from “LEGO Masters,” will be at the event to engage with attendees and build LEGOs. Danielle and Brandon commended the sibling duo for their kindness and willingness to appear at their Bricks for Water event for a good cause.

“They’re so generous with their time and their energy,” Danielle said. “People have the opportunity to get to talk and hear from them and spend that time together.”

This connection is the most important part to Danielle and Brandon. They explained that LEGOs have been a fun hobby that allowed them to make new friends. Their goal is that Bricks for Water is similarly positive, encouraging people to create and play in new ways while also raising money for a great cause.

“[I love] the fact that it is just a bunch of LEGO nerds coming together to put this on,” Brandon said. “There’s this shared bond and this love of this silly little plastic brick that is just absolutely fun to share and to nerd out on. I love the fact that so many different people at different skill levels and different levels of notoriety can come together and can be just excited about the same thing. It’s everybody coming together, doing what they can do, and sharing this love together.”
