ROSEWOOD HEIGHTS - Tuesday in Rosewood Heights, firefighters working a grass fire on West Woodland reported that a driver refused to turn around at a road shutdown and instead drove through residents’ yards to get around the scene.

“Emergency workers shut down roads so we can safely operate at the scene, hoping not to have to worry about being hit by cars, but even with the road shut down, there are still people who have no regard for people's safety or property,” the department said. “Please, if you see emergency vehicles operating, try to turn around and go another way or proceed slowly through the emergency scene. We all want to go home to our families.”
