ALTON — Chapel and Keller Dentistry has announced that Dr. Nick Berkenbile, D.M.D., is joining their practice in February 2026.

Dr. Berkenbile was born in Alton, and raised in Edwardsville. He is a 2016 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2024.

For the past two years, Dr. Berkenbile has practiced dentistry in Ballwin, Missouri, gaining valuable experience treating patients of all ages. His wife, Lauren, will soon complete her pediatric dental residency in St. Louis. Dr. Berkenbile is excited to return to his hometown area to begin the next chapter of his career caring for familiar faces and building long-term patient relationships.

He will be in network with all dental insurances currently accepted at the practice including Delta Dental's PPO Network.

Dr. Berkenbile will join Dr. Kevin Chapel and Dr. J.R. Keller who have a combined 36 years of dental experience. Chapel and Keller Dentistry is a general dental office located at 4113 Humbert Rd. in Alton, IL. The office provides comprehensive preventive, restorative, and general dentistry for patients of all ages.
