The victory was also the 200th win for Father McGivney girls' head coach Jeff Oller. He is the Father McGivney athletic director and is in his 10th season as the girls' head coach.
Zoe Oller again led the Griffins with 14 points. Both Alexa Jones and Elle Willenborg scored 13 points each.
Coach Oller said a regional championship is something the girls wanted and said, "We are proud of how they played."
Coach Oller also commented about his 200th career win and the regional championship with praise for both his girls and the coaching staff.
"We have had really good players who are committed and willing to put in the work both in and out of the season," he said. "And we have had a great coaching staff - Dale Renken, Caitlyn Pendall, Rebecca Palmer, Madison Webb, and Mary Hawkins - that is also committed and helped us get to this point."
McGivney is now 27-6, while the Hilltoppers finish their season at 20-11.
McGivney will play Carlinville at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, in the Virden (North Mac) 2A Sectional semifinals.
